Hristijan Gjorgievski is an international relations and public affairs professional with more than fifteen years of experience across government, international consulting and institutional transformation in Europe, Africa and Asia. His work focuses on foreign policy, government relations, political strategy, organizational performance and the delivery of complex institutional reforms.
Mr. Gjorgievski’s recent consulting work has covered public affairs, international strategy, political risk, stakeholder engagement and institutional development. This has included advising on cross-government reforms and international engagement concerning the Natural and Cultural Heritage of the Ohrid Region, a transboundary UNESCO World Heritage property, as well as supporting organizations on strategic positioning, governance and international partnerships.
From 2017 to 2022, Mr. Gjorgievski served as Adviser to the Prime Minister of North Macedonia. He contributed to the coordination of the country’s NATO accession process, the alignment of government and parliamentary priorities, international crisis response, and cooperation with international organizations and bilateral partners.
From 2022 to 2025, he served as Country Director for Democracy International in Malawi, directing a large-scale institutional transformation programme. He oversaw country operations and a multidisciplinary team while advising senior institutional leaders on strategy execution, organizational performance, public financial oversight, cross-institutional coordination and accountability.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Gjorgievski worked on political and institutional reform in North Macedonia, Pakistan and Myanmar. He advised governments, political parties, legislatures and civil society organizations on reform strategy, organizational development, coalition-building and stakeholder engagement.
Mr. Gjorgievski is an Atlantic Council Millennium Fellow. He holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Central Arkansas.
Mr. Gjorgievski is fluent in English, French, German, and Italian. He was elected to the Executive Board of the PRESPA Institute for the term 2026–2029.
