Strategic response, is an analysis of the recommendations of the European Commission for the next reform steps for North Macedonia as stated in the Country Reports from 2019 to 2022, as well as an analysis of the coherence of the reforms with the recommendations, but also with the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
For the purposes of this report, 3 chapters (Transport Policy; Energy; and Environment and Climate Change) from Cluster 4 – Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity were analyzed as compared with the set priorities of the NPAA 2022, as well as the programmed projects within IPA-2 and IPA-3, and the Economic and Investment Plan.
Finally, the findings are assessed from the view point of the UN SDGs, and recommendations are offered to improve the coherence of the Government’s strategic response and speed up accession negotiations.
