The “EU Observatory” represents the first of the cooperation with the Foundation Open Society – Macedonia and comprises three phases of activities undertaken to meet three specific short-term objectives: to analyse the negotiation framework for North Macedonia, as well as the proposals of the member states for its modification; to analyse the structure for EU accession negotiations and put forward proposals for its improvement; and to analyse the quality of part of the reform process and the Image of North Macedonia within the first cluster.
In it second phase, the project focused on the Twin, Green and Digital Transformation of North Macedonia within the process of EU Accession. The project, within its second phase aimed to contribute to the harmonization with the Green Agenda of the European Union, as well as to the accession of North Macedonia to the European Union. At the same time, through the activities within the project, the following short-term goals were met: to map the funds from the EU in the green agenda and sustainable connectivity cluster, especially in chapter 27 – environment and climate change, as well as the funds from the economic-investment plan of the EC represented by the expansion strategy; to bring the EU Green Deal and the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans closer to the public, and present the effect on policies and on accession to the European Union; and to determine methodological steps and make a list of documents and tools for monitoring the harmonization and the utilization of EU Funds for harmonization with regards to the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans and chapter 27.
